or as a glamorous Disney princess on the big screen\, the story of a young
woman who is exploited and underestimated\, yet keeps her inner strength\
, is timeless. Director Anna Bernreitner brings Cinderella’s story to th
e stage with a fine feel for the characters and her unmistakable aesthetic
.\nWith La Cenerentola ossia La Bontà in Trionfo (Cinderella\, or Goodnes
s Triumphant)\, first performed in Rome in 1817\, Rossini gave the fairy t
ale a particularly human shape. There is no magic wand and no fairy godmot
her. Instead\, the opera takes a sharp look at social masks and false glam
our. Between sparkling coloraturas and rousing ensembles\, Rossini tells o
f goodness triumphing over mere appearance. Pietro Rizzo\, the new chief c
onductor of the Sinfonieorchester St. Gallen\, conducts.\nThe opera is sun
g in Italian with German and English surtitles.\nHow to sign up:\n\n\n Re
